Ok Just a quick question and I apologise if this has be answered before I cant seem to find it.

I know that the inital focus will bo around the Azores as a playing field but when it comes to expanding on this will we get to sail across vast stretches of ocean in search of targets.

I only ask this because of changes made in another MP naval game which planned originally to have a 1:1 scale (with the ships) playing area but have now decided to take a leaf out of Rome: Total Wars interface and have playing zones instead which to my mind works in a single player campaign game like RTW but not in a mp naval game where you want to spend time going from place to another.

HOWEVER, when multiplayer releases you will only find land at the Azores. All the rest of the world is covered in water.

How come the Azores are chosen as the initial playing field ? - just because they are very small and roughly half way between the European and American continents, or is there something I am missing in the storyline? (not something I paid much attention to I must admit).

I dont mind how much land there is just as long as you can move arouynd the whole map as if you are on the ship

What will your options be if/when you run out of fuel? It would be good if an AI ship came to give you a tow... Some people may not be patient enough to sit through the whole journey of being towed but personally I think it would be good for realism and there must be some kind of penalty for running out of petrol. (Not just hitting escape to return to port).

Mind you, if there isn't much land and a whole lot of sea then having a 'real' world map won't be very enthralling, unless you like looking at a curved horizon and soaking up negative ions.

You could always consider yourself being "stationed" in the Azores, awaiting your chance to be promoted and ship out to some other destination.

Like all good wars ( Image ) it always starts somewhere small and escalates.
